… that ‘bury the hatchet’ comes
from Native American nations. They used to make peace with their enemies by
holding a ceremony of actually burying tomahawks, hatchets and other war
weapons. If war broke out again, they would dig them out again..
Today it means to settle an
argument, become friends after being enemies.
